On April 29, the INSPIRE platform showcased its work at the City of Mannheim’s joint booth at the Maimarkt under the slogan “WELL-CARE FOR IN MANNHEIM² – TODAY AND IN THE FUTURE!”. The focus was on the day’s theme, “Hospital of the Future,” featuring innovative approaches to tomorrow’s healthcare.
A highlight of the morning was the mayors’ tour, attended by around 50 mayors from the Rhine-Neckar region who had accepted the invitation from Mannheim’s Mayor Christian Specht. Together, they learned about current developments and projects related to healthcare in Mannheim and the region. In addition to numerous municipal representatives, officials from Mannheim University Medical Center were also present, including Commercial Director Sandra Henek, Medical Director Prof. Dr. Maurice Stephan Michel, Director of the Department of Radiation Oncology Prof. Dr. Frank Giordano, and Director of Nursing Rayk Oemus-Diehl.
Visitors took the opportunity that day to learn about the diverse possibilities offered by Mannheim’s real-world laboratories. These provide the opportunity to test innovations and new care concepts directly under real-world conditions and bring them into everyday medical practice more quickly. The interactive board on the “Hospital of the Future” was also particularly popular. There, citizens could record their ideas, wishes, and concerns
