At the end of August 2025, one of the world’s most important medical congresses took place in Dublin. Participants from science, clinics, and industry met at the high-profile world congress to discuss current challenges in global healthcare. The event was hosted by the International Society for Strategic Studies in Radiology.
The congress focused on the question of how our planet’s natural systems are connected to human health. A total of 75 expert groups from around the world exchanged ideas and contributed their diverse perspectives.
Mannheim also played an important role at this international medical congress. Professor Dr. Schönberg, Director of the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at Mannheim University Hospital, who chaired the congress this year, presented innovations from Mannheim. These included a high-resolution photon-counting computer tomograph and the M²OLIE Research Campus, which is breaking new ground in personalized cancer therapy.
