New radioactive substances help make even the smallest tumor foci visible and enable targeted treatment. At the M²OLIE Research Campus, the development of [18F]SiTATE marks a major milestone in this effort.

Successful cancer treatment requires that doctors be able to detect all metastases in the body as accurately as possible. It is also important to understand how individual tumor sites differ from one another. This knowledge helps tailor treatment specifically to the respective disease. Researchers are therefore developing new radioactive substances that make tumors more visible in medical imaging. These are molecules that bind specifically to tumor cells. Their radioactivity makes them visible in medical imaging. With their help, doctors can detect cancers early and completely and use this information in a targeted manner, for example, during radiation therapy.

Read the full article here in the section 10 Jahre Forschungscampus auf dem BMFTR-Portal der Forschungscampi.

["post-10469","press","type-press","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
